I found the inspiration for this collection after researching various subcultures. I came across one subculture community called biohackers which I found very interesting. On a broad spectrum, those in the biohacking community use science to "hack" their own biology and optimize their own body. Within that group, there is a subgroup called grinders who specifically use technology to modify their body ie. inserting RFID chips into their hands and arms.

 

With today's obsession with technology, the concept of combining technology with our own anatomy is relevant and fascinating. Thus it inspired me to create garments that utilized patterns of technology, thus bringing technology closer to the body. This collection would also feature various modern fabrics such as elasticized mesh, faux leather, and holographic plastic.
